The Christmas Season

First we went to Eric's side of the family for Christmas on Christmas day. My extremely kind and giving sister-in-law, Katie, proceeded to give me some of her maternity clothes to borrow. She has been such an amazing help to me! She also gave me her total body maternity pillow. It couldn't have come at a better time because lately sleeping has become very difficult for me. I am a tummy sleeper normally so this sleeping on my side is HARD! With the help of this pillow I am sleeping SOOOOO much better now! I LOVE it!!

Another new occurance has happened. On Christmas night after playing games and finally laying down for bed, I felt the little guy move/kick 3 times!! It was soooo exciting to me that I layed there waiting and waiting for more. But 3 was all I got. I have felt movement 3 other nights following that. I'm just ready to start feeling him more frequently! It's such a wonderful feeling to FEEL and KNOW that he's doing well in there!

The BIG DAY is here!!

So we got to see our little angel again today and found out some VERY exciting news!!

We're having a BOY!!!! I've always wanted a boy first and I'm just thrilled to be getting one. Boy oh Boy is God Good!! Also, Eric couldn't be more excited! He's on cloud 9! Here are some more of the sonogram pics that I think are the most obvious of what they are.

And this picture is a little less exciting, but here is my current belly pic for those who were wondering what I'm looking like these days. I am currently 19 weeks and 2 days today!
Merry Christmas to everyone! I know ours is a VERY MERRY ONE indeed!!

Hip, Hip, HOORAY

So I know I've been a little slow posting this time, but it's only because I don't have a new belly pic or new baby pics. At the last visit I didn't get to see the little one. We just listened to the heartbeat and then I had some blood taken for the triple screen test. However, I am happy to say that I think, and I could be wrong, that morning sickness is over. Hip, Hip, HOORAY!! I did get a little sick feeling twice this week while eating lunch, but everything ended up ok. :o)

I am now 17 weeks and 2 days to be exact! So this week the baby's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone. The baby supposedly weighs 5 ounes now (about as much as a turnip), and is around 5 inches long from head to bottom. We will hopefully get to find out the gender of the baby at our next visit which is on December 18th. What a great Christmas present that will be if the little one cooperates!! I will FOR SURE post new pics after that appointment because they are LONG overdue.

Some fun updates...I wore maternity pants this week for the first time! They are a little on the big side still, but OH SO COMFY! I don't know if I'll ever want to go back to the others. Lol! I also now have a stroller, the baby bedding and the crib is on order! The future nursery will soon look more like a nursery! YAY!

Trying to keep the Flu Blues away

Well this past Saturday Katie and I went to Babies R Us where she helped me with my registry. So fun! That evening was Danis and Brian's wedding and I think I had too much fun dancing and singing (loudly). I woke up Sunday with a sore throat. I ended up staying home from work on Monday because I had gotten worse. Today I'm still not 100%, but I'm getting there slowly. Yesterday I hit the 14 week mark! So I'm just waiting for the morning sickness to pack up and leave. It has already struck 3 times this week. On a more positive note, mom came over last night to help me with my disaster I created in the baby room + the dining room + the spare bedroom. The baby's future room is now starting to come together. The closet is bacially empty and waiting to be filled with fun baby stuff! YAY!

And here is my 14 weeks belly pic...please excuse all my shirt/pants lines. I had just woken up and took the pic so I wouldn't forget to take one to document the growth. :o)

12 weeks...so glad to be here!

So last Friday we had our 2nd visit to the Dr. He said everything looked great! I haven't gained any weight and I have actually lost some. He said this was nothing to worry about right now. I also noticed that the little heart rate had gone from 165 to 180...I'm wondering if this means "girl?" I have read and heard many things about if the heart rate increases and stays increased it's more likely to be a girl. Who knows?!! Can you see the little leg buds and arm buds in the pic?? :o)

As for how I've been feeling lately...I started taking my vitmains at night after many friends suggested it. I do think it has helped some with the morning sickness. A new development is when I'm sleeping now I am starting to get hungry in the middle of the night. I also can no longer sleep in past 8 on the weekends because someone makes me feel SUPER hungry. As for energy levels, they are still pretty low. I did manage to play volleyball 3 different times, but that's about the most I've been able to do lately.

Since I'm almost done with the first trimester, maybe things will start getting better like everyone keeps telling me. Guess we shall see!!

11 weeks today!

Well the Kumquat has now graduated on to be a FIG!! (Length: just over 1 1/2 inches, head to bottom) Morning sickness has only come a total of 4 times, thankfully! It probably could have occured more, but I really try to keep it down. As for food cravings, I really haven't had too many. I was wanting hamburger pickle slices, but now they don't seem to be as desired. The other day I had a MAJOR craving for mac 'n cheese, but after I made it I didn't really want it anymore. How annoying?! Around lunch time everyday I feel like I am starving, however, when I start thinking about what to eat it just makes me feel sick. Strange? Very! Other than that, things are pretty good. Our next dr. visit is this Friday! I can't wait to see a new picture of my little Fig!!

10 weeks along

Today is the 10 week mark. I have officially had morning sickness Sunday morning, Monday morning and this morning. Guess my wishful thinking was just too wishful! I was unable to sail on through without the joys of morning sickness. Just some of the good 'ol pregnancy surprises, I suppose. This morning I took a picture to help document the growing belly, or soon-to-be growing belly. So here is my official 10 weeks belly pic. :o) Not much growth yet, but I bet that changes pretty soon. (P.S. the peanut is now being referred to as a KUMQUAT! Hee hee!!)

And it begins...

After my wonderful bestie, Megan, talked me into starting this blog, I decided I would post a little something to begin. At this point I am 9 weeks and 2 days along. Morning sickness hasn't really been an issue and I just hope it stays that way. I mostly just feel tired and bloated. Lovely, I know. We had our first sonogram on Sept. 25th and we were able to even hear the heartbeat, something I wasn't expecting! So being the emotional person I am these days, I cried. Our next appointment is Oct. 23rd. I can't wait to see how the little peanut has grown!
